North Korea Presentation

Today in class we made presentations on certain things relating to North Korea. My groups presentation was on certain propaganda in North Korea. I noticed that all of their pictures portrayed them as being very powerful and alot of them showed the US being destroyed. This is because the government controls everything the people hear and they have a giant army.

North Korea Nukes

North Korea is a poor country mainly because they spend so much money on army. They are one of the few countries that own Nukes. They have 6 to 8 nukes, and could bomb south Korea.

DMZ

Is the border between North and South Korea. It is the most heavily militaristic border in the world.

Korea

Today in class we learned that Korea has been divided into North and South for about the past 60 years. North Korea is very communist and is ruled by a dictator the people have no right to vote. South Korea is a new age country with a higher standard of living and friendly to the rest of the world. Both of these countries have big army's and it would be huge if they went to war.

Korea

Very Isolated, taken over by Japan, Japan is defeated, in 1947, UN divides Korea into two halves at the 38th parallel. Soviet Union administers north, US south, supposed to be temporary, could not agree on how to be governed, soviets set up a communist gov't in the North ruled by Kim II-Sung, America set up a pro-Western, democratic government in the south, each side thought they should rule, leading to the Korean War,

North Korea is known as the - Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea, capital Pyongyang, totalitarian Stalinist dictatorship, single- party state, cult of personality, Kim ill sung - Kim jong-il - Kim jong-un, North Korea has nukes,

South Korea - Republic of Korea, capital: Seoul presidential republic, very high standard of living, fourth-largest economy in Asia, President Lee Myung-bak, (2008-now)
