Countries Presentation
Today in class we all presented our reports about developed and developing. There were some very developed countries such as Canada, with low death rate, high income, and high reading. There were also some very undeveloped countries like Angola who had many infant death rates and low literacy rates.
Countries
Angola is very poor and has a high death rate. South Korea is a developed country with a very modern healthy society

Developed Nations
Some new technologies gave created a demand for a particular natural resource. Steam engines need coal, internal combustion engines need gas, making computer chips needs skilled labor,
Costs - resource depletion Environmental destruction, Health Problems,
Benefits - help us produce goods and services, creates employment opportunities, helps develop new technologies,
Interdependence of Nations: countries must trade with each other the acquire the goods they do not possess,
Effects of Unequal Distribution of Resources - uneven economic development (rich and poor countries) Energy produces and consumers, Imperialism, control of resources
Developed Nations - have a lot of resources and access, technology, ex USA, have more skilled labor, higher low economic development, higher quality of life, generally urban, most people work in secondary and tertiary areas, high GDP, highly educated, literacy rate is high, infant mortality is low, percentage of urban,

China Labor
Today we finished the video on why even Americans decide to hire Chines labor instead of American. It is because they will work for so cheap. Also their country is so cheap that unlike america who blows up or destroys buildings china breaks them down piece by piece saving everything of any value to be reused.

Transporting Products
Today in class we discussed how almost all of are products we own here in the USA, come from other countries, especially China. Also many American made products do not get bout because they are same quality for more money. We also discussed that your mainly limited to one child in china so it is very devastating when kids die.

When trees get cut down, 20% of global warming cause, half forest destroyed from this, fast way of making money, rain forest hold species of animals, since 1970 327,823 rain forests have been destroyed the size of New Mexico in size sort of,
Petroleum
Petroleum causes carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides,
main cause of global warming,
carbon monoxide is the main characteristics of petroleum fuel exhaust,
One third of CO2 is released into the atmosphere every year from fuel exhaust,
We get most Petroleum from Saudi Arabia, Forms from dead plants and animals,
Middle East exports the most cause they got the most, US consumes approximately 19.15 million barrels of oil per day,

The US uses 18,690,000 bbl/day from record in 2009. US uses most ffuels in the world,
Saudi Arabia possess about 20% worlds petroleum, US uses most oil,Ffuels are formed by natural processes,
There is about 21.3billion tones of ffuels being burned per year, Top 5 oil consumers, US, European Union, China, Japan, and India,
Ffuels were discovered by a man in 1800's, Top producer Saudi Arabia, ffeuls formed by decomposition of dead organisms that lay under the ground,
Can be used to make gasoline, heating, Diesel, Fuels, Making Plastic, Jet Fuel, Asphalt,

Coal
Today I did research on coal. My objective was to find out how it powers electricity and how it works. Coal is burned and the steam powers machines that produce electricity sort of. Also it can be melted into forms of iron which is used to make the steel we use for bridges and cars. Coal is also very abundant and a reliable resource, although it does somewhat harm the environment.

Class 11/21
Today we discussed how the Demographic Project went and then later took a quiz on population pyramids. It was kinda difficult.
Demographic Assignment
For the demographic project my group worked hard, Robert and Garrett helped finish my part because I did work over my another house then emailed it to myself and never got it. Ben did his part to. I redid it and typed it again but it was not in enough depth so Robert fixed it up.

Class Discussion
Today we had a class discussion on the different birth and death rates in different countries and how that will impact the future. The death rate of aids in Africa will only get worse over the years.

Birth and Death Rate - Correlation
Today in class we discussed how the information we discovered on birth rates in different country's relates to the wealth of a country. It was obvious to see the richer countries had less babies even though they could afford more and the poorer countries had more babies when they could not afford it. This was because lack of protection and that parents feared their kids would not make it to adulthood so they had more.

Four Stages
Stage 1: high birth rate, very slow growth, low RNI, In pre industrial society, death rates and birth rates were both high and fluctuated rapidly, according ton natural events, such as drought and disease, to produce, a relatively constant and young population. Children contributed to the economy of the household from an early age by carrying water, firewood and messages, caring for younger siblings, sweeping, washing, preparing food and doing some work in the fields.
Stage 2: Death rate falls dramatically, birth rate remains high, high RNI. A consequence of the decline in CDR in stage two is an increasingly rapid rise in population growth, (called the population explosion) as the gap between deaths and births grows wider,
Stage 3: Death rate remains low, birth rate drops; RNI slows. Stage Three moves the population towards stability through a decline in the birth rate.
Stage 4: Death brate low, birth rate low, low RNI (as in stage 1) this occurs where birth and death rates are both low. Therefore, the total population is high and stable

Notes - Birth Rate and more
Population Pyramid can help human geographers determine what will happen to a country's population. Students should be able to gather and analyze population. PP's - graphically represent the age and gender, distribution of a certain population, 1945 WW2 ended, United States does not have nearly as many kids as most countries, Its a fact that women live longer, Women do not have as many dangerous jobs as men. Age: population pyramids visually present the population of a particular country broken down by age.
average is 30, percent (Africa); high number indicates great potential for future growth; Percentage of population over age 65: identifies need for health care and other social services,

Second Post
Geopolitics is the main term we discussed in the first term of human geography. It relates to everything involving political systems and differences in country's. Also it involves discussing certain ways of advertising an terms that relate to human geography such as genocide or racism. Culture is a big part of geopolitics. Culture is learned and shared traditions through certain groups of people. Geopolitics teaches also teaches about how society and cultures work.
Geopolitics involves a lot of terms that deal with issues in countries.
One of the main terms is racism. Racism is hatred toward a certain race of people. It can result in even murder in some cases. Genocide is an attempt to wipe out a certain race or religion of people. These terms are very similar. They both involve hatred towards a group of people and can both be very dangerous.
